On the back of a successful stint in Philadelphia last year hosting Beyond Sport summit, Dan returns to the United States this week to host two major events with the Beyond Sport team at New York’s iconic Yankee Stadium.
Two days before the World Cup kicks off in Brazil, Dan will join Major League Soccer, Street Football World, and charities, teams and corporates from around the world for Beyond Soccer, a celebration of the beautiful game, and its unique ability to foster social change in communities everywhere. As well as hosting the event, Dan will close the day with a Q&A session with New York Red Bulls goalkeeper Luis Robles, one of the biggest names in American soccer.
A day later, Dan will be back at Yankee Stadium for Beyond Sport United, as the NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB and Nascar are joined by high-profile speakers from Facebook, Twitter, UNICEF, Tottenham Hotspurs, ESPN, and dozens of other organisations with a vested interest in the power of sport. With former British Prime Minister Tony Blair’s chief advisor Alastair Campbell, and Hollywood star Jim Caveizel also amongst the speakers, and the day’s theme being the potential of digital and social media to promote positive change, Beyond Sport United promises to be a landmark day for sporting philanthropy.
Dan will host the overall event, as well as facilitate break-out panels within the day’s programme – and will carry this week’s experience in New York into this year’s Beyond Sport summit, which will touch down in South Africa later this year, with Dan once again a proud host.
