This year’s Beyond Sport Summit, bringing together sports-based charities, professional teams and business in celebration of sport as a tool for social good, took place over four days in Philadelphia, with Dan travelling to the United States as one of the presenters at the event.
Having worked on the 2011 Beyond Sport Summit in Cape Town, and hosted the inaugural South African Sport Industry Summit in 2012, Dan was invited to join the Philadelphia event, and kicked off the summit as one of the panel hosts at Beyond Soccer, discussing community participation with three of America’s professional soccer teams.
Dan also hosted Beyond Rugby, a one-day symposium that featured England’s 2003 World Cup winner Will Greenwood, iconic French flanker Serge Betsen, and USA Rugby CEO Nigel Mellville; Dan also presented a sponsorship engagement forum with panellists from Barclays and Comic Relief, amongst others.
The final day concluded with the Big Interview, nearly a thousand guests attending an interview with Greenwood and NFL great Brian Dawkins, one of Philadelphia’s most celebrated players; Dan at the honour of conducting the interview that wrapped up a successful summit bringing sport, philanthropy and industry together over four memorable days in Philadelphia.
